Olivia Munn Discusses Her Decision Not to Sign NDA Following “Traumatic” Experience During Filming

Years later, Olivia Munn has come forward to discuss a complaint she lodged during the production of an unnamed film.

The actress recently shared details about a troubling incident on set, which she described as "really not okay." She explained her decision to reject a substantial financial offer to remain silent about what transpired behind the scenes.

"It was such a traumatic experience that I had to report it to the studio," Munn stated during her appearance on Monica Lewinsky’s podcast, Reclaiming. "However, I was ultimately offered a significant sum—seven figures, in fact—to accept their apology and acknowledge the situation. But it was paired with a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)."

Munn elaborated, "Although I would never have publicized the incident because I simply wanted to move on, I firmly refused to sign an NDA. They insisted that I must, and it felt fundamentally wrong. This was during the onset of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, a time when the industry was grappling with the repercussions of the Harvey Weinstein scandal. There were discussions around those who signed NDAs, with many implying that such individuals did it purely for financial gain. I feared that my willingness to speak out would undermine the credibility of my voice, and there was a real concern that the studio could potentially disclose that I had signed an NDA for money, which would further dilute my message."

In late 2017, at the peak of the #MeToo movement, Munn was one of six women who accused Brett Ratner of sexual misconduct tied to her experiences on the set of his 2004 film, After the Sunset.
