Below, The Hollywood Reporter highlights the season’s most significant events, including surprise guest appearances, budding romances, and unexpected twists that threaten to complicate relationships. Keep reading for all the details from season three of Nobody Wants This.
Noah and Joanne’s Engagement
In episode four, Noah (Adam Brody) and Joanne (Kristen Bell) take a significant step forward by attending their first wedding as a couple. Noah mentions that he is officiating his friend Brian’s wedding, prompting Joanne to join him as his plus-one. However, they almost miss their flight when Joanne kindly offers her seat to a fan, Nicole (played in a cameo by series creator Erin Foster), who reminds her of herself.
Ultimately, they make the flight and arrive at the picturesque wine country, where Noah confesses that Brian isn’t real and that the wedding invitation was an elaborate scheme to propose. With Taylor Swift’s “Lover” playing nearby, they become officially engaged!

Foster shared with Netflix Tudum that her personal engagement journey inspired this moment. “I thought I was going to [another couple’s] vow renewal, and I wasn’t. I was going to my own proposal,” she recounted. “Every road leads back to me every time.”
Morgan and Sasha Take a Step Together
Viewers have eagerly awaited a specific moment throughout season three, and it ultimately occurs in episode seven: friends Morgan (Justine Lupe) and Sasha (Timothy Simons) shift from platonic to romantic. Their friendship evolves significantly when Sasha travels with Morgan to New York City for her upcoming appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen launched by her new podcast segment, “Make Them.”
They share a dinner that Sasha deems a date—but Morgan doesn’t dispute it. Their dynamic deepens as Morgan opens up regarding her previous marriage. They nearly lean in for their first kiss, but Morgan hesitates, stating once they cross that line; there’s no turning back, especially since their siblings are now engaged.
Once they return to their hotel, however, they let their chemistry overwhelm them and decide to take the plunge. Yet the aftermath of their night together changes everything (details to follow).

Esther Explores New Love
After separating from Sasha, Esther (Jackie Tohn) begins to navigate life outside her marriage. Although she initially claims not to prioritize dating, her perspective soon changes throughout the season. A pivotal moment arises when Morgan sets up an online dating account for Sasha, only for him to discover that Esther is on the platform too, signaling that she is ready to move on.
Esther also embarks on a new career in real estate, achieving her license and encountering Julian (Steven Weber), an affluent, older client. The two connect and decide to enter an exclusive relationship.
The Complicated Love Triangle
Following their romantic night in New York, Morgan abruptly leaves Sasha the next morning, leaving a note stating she caught an earlier flight. After reflecting on her feelings, she recognizes her mistake and wants to rekindle their relationship, but Sasha, feeling unprepared to risk their friendship, declines her offer.
This rejection leaves Morgan unable to share space with Sasha, complicating wedding planning for Noah and Joanne. Tensions rise when Esther visits Sasha to drop off something for their daughter, leading to an unexpected encounter that jeopardizes her relationship with Julian, further entangling the already delicate Morgan-Sasha dynamic.

Cameos from Bravo! Andy Cohen and Ciara Miller
The love for Bravo is palpable in season three. Early in the season, Noah references Summer House while interrupting Joanne’s binge-watching of the reality series to engage her in conversation.
Later on, Morgan appears on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen for her podcast segment, featuring a taped cameo from Cohen himself. She shares the spotlight with Ciara Miller, a veteran cast member from Summer House, who has made headlines this year amid her own reality drama.
A Unique Christmas Episode
In the penultimate episode, which centers around Christmas, one might expect a nod to Chrismukkah—the blended Christmas and Hanukkah celebration popularized by Seth Cohen (also played by Brody) on the early-2000s series The O.C..
Instead, viewers see Noah endeavor to create the perfect Christmas for Joanne as she nears her conversion to Judaism. The episode features tender moments for the couple before the season’s emotional finale.
Joanne’s Conversion to Judaism
One of the season’s looming questions receives a resolution: Will Joanne convert to Judaism? Throughout the season, she undergoes conversion classes with Rabbi Eden (Sarah Silverman) alongside Sebastien (Andrew Rannells). In the finale, she completes her journey with the mikvah, a significant ritual that signifies her conversion.

The touching scene takes place in the ocean near the family’s Malibu beach house. As Joanne emerges from the water post-ritual, Noah watches with tears of joy, moved by her significant achievement. The long-anticipated moment marks a pivotal point for the couple as they move forward. Rabbi Eden playfully suggests that their next step should be starting a family.
Noah and Joanne’s Wedding
Not only have Noah and Joanne gotten engaged, but they surprise everyone by tying the knot in the season three finale! After Joanne’s conversion, the couple reflects on this monumental experience together. Yet, family dramas—especially Morgan’s ongoing issues with Sasha and Noah’s mother’s meddling—cloud their wedding plans.
In a remarkable show of spontaneity, Noah invites Rabbi Eden to officiate their wedding right there on the beach. Joanne agrees, and they find a chance encounter with a passerby who happens to be Jewish, making the ceremony possible. Thus, with Rabbi Eden leading the way, Noah and Joanne exchange vows, becoming Mr. and Mrs. Roklov in an intimate beach ceremony.
